Swallowtail Light, Grand Manan Island

The main reason for this return visit to Grand Manan Island was, of course, to see and photograph again the spectacularly postcard perfect Swallowtail Light. However, that was almost a bust.

After booking the trip back in February, we learned that Swallowtail was set to undergo some extensive repair work starting in April. For our visit we expected her to be ensconced in ugly scaffolding. As luck would have it, the work was delayed until the end of June.
