A New Day

Welcome to the new Blog at lussierphotography.com

Fishing Shacks at Willard Beach, Portland, ME

For the past decade+ I’ve been running a blog under the domain lussierphoto.com. It is (or was) a relic of the old photo blogging days when everyone who owned a camera had a blog to showcase his or her work. It was fun. It served its purpose, but it became bloated, cluttered, and confusing, so I decided to make a change. I decided to re-boot my blog—and my site—under the slightly longer name, lussierphotography.com.

Now you may ask, ‘Bob, why not just redesign and reorganize your old site?’

The main reason is because I felt I needed a fresh start. In the decade+ of maintaining lussierphoto.com, I posted a ton of images, only a fraction of which represents my best work. The site also underwent a series or redesigns and attempts at reorganization which resulted in the loss of images and broken links.

This fresh start gives me the opportunity to present anew some of my favorite and finest images (not mutually exclusive) and tell or re-tell some of the stories behind the images.

Here is some of what you’ll find:

  • You will now be able to purchase prints. The new store is seeded with a handful of images, but it will grow over time (I hope rapidly). You can buy traditional fine art prints, metal prints, or classic canvas wraps of select images at a few different sizes. All orders are handled by me personally and will be drop-shipped to you directly. And because of that personal touch, you can feel free to reach out and request prints of images that are not in the store.

  • On this Blog I’ll be revisiting some of my older images. A lot has changed over the past 10 years, including my processing style. Many of my old images deserve a new look, and regardless of processing choice, the stories behind many of my images deserves to be re-told and/or revisited.

  • I’ve consolidated my galleries. You’ll find carefully selected images from a variety of my passions, including of course, the Mills of Lawrence. I’m also not finished adding images to those galleries, nor are they all up and running yet.

  • Maybe some Tech Porn. I’ve never really written about the technical aspects of my photography, or about the specific gear I use, but maybe I will pepper some of that in — even if only for my own amusement.

I’m really looking forward to this reboot and I hope you are too!
