Barn and Silos

Barnstorming Vermont

Barn and Silos, Vermont

In my distance running days I ran several road and trail races in the northern part of Vermont (ask me about the Jay Peak Challenge sometime and you will get an ear-full), but photography, not so much. Embarrassing, I know. But it is what it is.

So last weekend’s visit on a photo scouting trip with a friend was a welcomed adventure.

We spent two days driving the backroads in search of barns, silos and pastoral scenes in general. It was more of a scouting trip than anything else, but we hoped for good conditions for midday images … some light snow would have been great, maybe overcast with some textured clouds. But what we got was mostly blue skies, bright sun and harsh shadows, so we were glad we made it primarily a scouting trip. And a successful scouting trip it was. We found some great barns and scenic vistas, and even managed to grab a few quality images.

This is one of them. More to come.
