At The Basin
The Basin at Franconia Notch State Park in the White Mountains of New Hampshire is a very popular spot, especially for families with small children. It is easily accessible—just a short walk from the parking lot—with a series of easy hiking trails along the river and its many cascades, some big, some small like this one..
The main attraction is the very photogenic Basin itself (and below), a natural bowl formed by the waters of the Pemigewasset River, but I much prefer to explore the others looking for unique compositions.
